These are beautiful earrings. I love lapis lazuli, and was looking for earrings to go with a necklace I have that is made up of a string of small beads. I thought these would be perfect, but it turns out they are quite a bit bigger than I expected. I gave them to my mother for her birthday, and she adores them and wears them all the time. They're good for a nice range of casual to dressy options.

I purchased the "Blue Aventurine and Sterling Silver Dangle Earrings, 'Sweet Blue Exuberance'" at a great price. These earrings are about 1/2 inch in diameter, just as described, and large enough to be seen but not too heavy. They are not translucent; they are opaque; they match the dark aventurine necklace very well.
