Add a bold touch to your spaces with this graphic area rug by Bulmaro Mendoza. He crafts it in 100% sheep's wool colored with natural dyes, and decorates it using classic Zapotec-style agave designs. Born in Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca, Bulmaro Mendoza learned traditional Zapotec weaving as a boy from his parents. He now runs a workshop with them where they create textiles using local wool and organic dyes.

Maize is the staff of life in Mesoamerica, and Mario Chávez depicts a flourishing corn plant in a nocturnal milpa, or corn field. Bright birds perch amid the verdant foliage to sing of the harvest to come. Woven on the handloom of naturally tinted wool, this accent rug is an elegant example of Zapotec weaving. Chávez names the design Cálido árbol de la vida in Spanish.

Because each piece is individually woven, measurements could vary +/- 1 inch (3 cm).

Amit Moza designs this rug to celebrate the magnificence of animals while bringing a traditional Indian craft into the modern home. The wool rug, with its beautiful zebra design, is skillfully crafted with intricate chain stitch work. The uniquely shaped creature is patterned with graphite grey and sunrise orange details that can take up to 20 days to complete by hand. The plain ivory cotton backing adds durability.

Cerapio Vallejo creates this fabulous Ayacucho-style rug in sheep wool. This ancient craft has existed for centuries, having been passed down to the Incas after originating among the ancient Wari culture of Peru. Vallejo's technique is called kilin, which is characterized by the use of small, straight stitches. Although extra fabric and fifteen days of hard work are required for kilin-produced rugs, the end result is an extraordinarily clear illustration. Vallejo achieves the rich colors in the rug by using natural dyes.

Crafted on a hand-woven, black cotton base, the rug features chain stitched wool embroidery work that brings the tiger's stripes to life.
