In all the colors of a fiesta, cotton yarns are handwoven together on a traditional backstrap loom. They create the intricate stripes and X patterns of this shawl from Guatemala. The long tradition of exquisite textiles survives to these modern days in the talented hands of artisan Wilfredo Herencia of Peru. Refined alpaca yarns are woven to create this soft scarf of floral inspiration. Grey, pink, blue and yellow hues unite in this gorgeous winter piece, whose pattern merges blooms and geometric details.

Peruvian artisan Maria Ramos Sanchez handcrafts this mobile phone case with an arpillera style front, in which cotton blend felt is appliquéd and embroidered to create an elaborate scene. The artisan was inspired by the beautiful Tambopata National Reserve of Peru, and fills this jungle scene with scarlet macaws perched in flowering trees, a tiger stalking through the foliage on the jungle floor, and a sloth peeking out from amongst the branches. This lovely, brightly colored scene is on a yellow background, and the back and lining of the bag are black. The single compartment is secured with a zipper and a long, colorful strap makes it easy to carry the case over the shoulder or across the body.

This sweater sizzles in bright colors in a playful pattern of vertical wavy stripes. Designed by Alfredo Falcon of Peru, the boatneck sweater is knit with a blended yarn of soft baby alpaca, the fine fleece from the first shearing of the season, and durable acrylic in sea green, avocado, cherry red, and ivory. The colorful waves continue across the long, wide sleeves, which drape beautifully down each side of the sweater.
