The Artisans of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco collective works to maintain traditional Peruvian weaving styles and natural dyeing techniques alive. Its founder, Nilda Callañaupa Alvarez, sought out elderly weavers to teach younger apprentices old weaving techniques that were about to be lost forever.

Shaped like an urn, this handcrafted ceramic vase is filled with Inca artistry. "The patterns are inspired by Andean fields, where flowers, wheat and rice are harvested," explain the Huaman Paucar Family artisans, who replicate the ancient glyphs that conveyed information on sowing.
