"I'm Ketut Nadiasih, from Tampaksirin. I'm the fourth of seven siblings and our parents are farmers with no educational background. I had Poliomyelitis when I was a little girl so I rarely went outside my parents’ house unless somebody could carry me anywhere I wanted to go. I felt so at peace and happy when my nephew carried me to see the world outside for the first time - a world that is full of colors. I enjoy crafting something with both my hands that can be used by people. When I married my husband, whom I met at the foundation, I knew the meaning of happiness. We work together to create ornaments, my husband carves the pieces and I finish and paint them."

Balinese artisan Togog Suyasa creates this set of five schutzengel ornaments, crafted from albesia wood and painted by hand with heart-motif blue dresses. "I'm the youngest of five siblings and our parents are farmers in Gianyar. I never went to school because of my parent's financial limitations, and also because I got poliomyelitis when I was just a child and it left me with weakened knees. I wanted to help my parents in some way, so I have been crafting ornaments since I was 14 years old. I felt so proud to myself when I received my very first income. Although I'm not really happy with my physical condition, I'm happy doing ornaments and hopefully my products can make more people happy. My hobby is singing traditional Balinese songs. I'm married and we have a son and a daughter. My wife is the one who helps me in making these ornaments, which I hope makes people’s Christmas happier."
