Nyoman Indrawati Subrata of the Subrata Family handcrafts this pair of suar wood sculptures depicting a Balinese bride and groom at their wedding. The pair is sculpted and hand painted with exquisite details, including the ornate wedding clothes, jewelry, and head ornaments of the lovely couple. The artisan carries on the extraordinary art work of her late father, Nyoman Subrata.

A long tradition has given Wayan Rendah a lesson of pride for his Balinese heritage and a heart for the little details that make life enjoyable. These two things inspire him to hand-carve this set of two suar wood sculptures, whose motifs portray a couple wearing the island's classic garments—a symbol of culture but also enduring love.
