Peru's ancient Incas and their icons influence the design of this pair of ceramic pendant necklaces from artisan Dina. Using beautiful blue and red backdrops for the pendants, artisans hand paint multicolored symbols and shapes which evoke Incan geometric designs. The doughnut-shaped pendants are topped with brightly colored tubular beads and hang from black nylon cord.

Made entirely by hand, this beautiful contemporary bag showcases the ancestral weaving traditions preserved by the women artisans of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco. The compact purse exemplifies the incredible time and dedication it takes to produce a handmade work of art. In the highlands they call home, before they can begin to weave the fabric for the bag, the women must first raise and shear the alpacas and llamas to obtain the wool, then dye and spin the fleece before it is ready to be woven into fabric on a traditional backstrap loom. From start to finish, the time taken to produce each bag spans the seasons. The fully-lined bag closes with a zipper and features an interior zipper pocket.

With the style of her designs, artisan Dina wishes to give a fitting expression to the legacy of the Incas of her native Peru. She presents an artisan crafted ceramic pendant necklace hand painted in beautiful jewel tones. Fuchsia, green, and purple combine with the gold and black tones of the pendant which features geometric shapes recalling Inca iconography; a symbol of the sun, the heavenly body at the core of the Inca's religious beliefs, sits at the center of the doughnut-shaped pendant which is topped with a bead painted in similar hues.
