The sweet melodies coming from this magnificent flute tell the story of the ancient Aztec Empire. Mexico's Angel Ceron Artisan Association draws inspiration from the luxurious ornaments adorning the Aztec complexes to create this unique ceramic musical instrument adorned with the image of an ancient warrior—all crafted in the classic Oaxacan style.

"I was inspired by the beautiful nature that surrounds us, especially the extravagant unusual shape of seahorses," confides Felix Carballo about this ocarina vessel flute. The Nicaraguan artisan crafts the ceramic ocarina by hand detailing the seahorse with a bicycle spike and eyes with a fine paint brush. Carballo prepares the different colors by pulverizing stones and using a brush to splash the color, successfully achieving an aged effect. This ocarina features two tonal perforations on the front, two on the back, and the mouth piece is under the crown.
