The universally recognized symbol of peace becomes a pendant necklace in the hands of Thai artisan Narinee. The pendant is crafted by hand of sterling silver and studded with sparkling marcasite. An equally ornate bale suspends the pendant on a classic sterling silver ball chain.

Members of the Jalapa Girl Jewelsmiths Association find a new take on a symbol originating in 1958. Crafted of silver, the pendant depicts the peace symbol so popular in the 1960s and '70s, and they add a heart, an olive branch and a creamy cultured pearl.

"We're inspired by what we're living today, and this made me think that we need to be united to create a better world and united to achieve peace," the Guatemalan artisan says. "This pendant represents the strength of union needed for us to achieve, together, the victory of peace. This image was designed for one of the first marches for Nuclear Disarmament in London, and later became widely used as a symbol for peace."

Wear the colors of spring with this set of three wristband bracelets crafted by the Wakami association. Guatemalan artisans work with waxed polyester cords to create sturdy structures, adding crystal and glass beads. As a special touch, they also embellished one accessory with a Zamac pendant depicting little human-like figures holding hands as a symbol of peace.

Peruvian artisan Paola Siza puts her experience and creativity into practice to create this enchanting bracelet, part of NOVICA's World Peace Project Collection. "When designing this bracelet, I was inspired by the story of a dove's flight, sent by superior beings to spread calm throughout the world to all sentient beings. Thus, there begins to be compassion for each other and coexistence in peace," explains the artisan.

The accessory comes with a filigree dove pendant, all made in polished sterling silver for a dazzling look.

Inspired by the ideologies of people like Albert Einstein and Martin Luther King, Jr., Ghanaian artisan Akwele Suma hand-crafts a lovely beaded pendant necklace recreating nature, animals and humans living together in harmony as a symbol of justice and peace. A collection of lovely charms depicting people, trees, fish, elephants, birds, houses, the globe and a pendant of the scales of justice are handmade from recycled cardboard, detailed with ink, knotted onto a silk cord and topped with sese wood beads.

Reminiscent of the 1960s, this retro necklace is designed and crafted by Thai artisan Napat Chotpruekchookul. Expertly handcrafted from ceramic, the pendant depicts the peace sign in a rainbow of bright colors. Glazed to a smooth finish, it is worn on an adjustable waxed-cotton cord with sliding knot that makes finding the perfect length a breeze.

"If humans want to live peacefully and sustainably, world peace is essential," explains artisan Nyoman Ariawan. "To create a peaceful world, all countries must work together to make advancements that benefit all humans, regardless of their origin. I hope that all countries respect each other and maintain world peace. Global problems can be solved through dialogue and respect for applicable international law, without war.

"To attain peace, humanity needs to show its heart," says the artisan, who crafts this sterling silver pendant necklace in Denpasar, incorporating traditional Balinese motifs throughout the design, with a Celtic pattern on the Borobudur chain that symbolizes the close human bond, and a heart-shaped pendant with a hammered finish, that on the reverse side incorporates the symbology of diverse religions, all beating together in this heart, living in harmony side-by-side-among -- symbols of Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Taoism, Islam, Christianity, Shinto, and Sikhism, which spread in the world but here live together in peace.

In Bali, artisan-jeweler Buana crafts this stunning World Peace Project design featuring gentle doves handcrafted from bone. "The dove is a bird of love, with a gentle face symbolizing world peace. I've carefully decorated this unique dove with flowers in the shape of a heart, symbolizing love for all the universe and a call for universal peace. By creating this message in the form of a bracelet, I’m offering a constant reminder to the wearer to maintain thoughts of peace, and to remember to imitate the dove’s character.

"If a community is able to create peace in terms of living conditions, and in terms of embracing the existence of others in general, the population in each village will be happy to carry out activities in each of their diverse fields, including the farmers who are happy to go to the fields, office employees or civil servants, and so on and on, with the spirit of carrying out duties and responsibilities well for the harmony of all. So that macro-economy and technology will continue to develop positively, and human resources can still be relied upon for world development.
