Sandiqs are traditional Uzbek chests that used to be in every household and were a must-have for brides to keep their dowry. Ubaydulla Kasimov transforms these chests into fabulous jewelry boxes like this breathtaking design boasting floral, leaf and geometric motifs. The artisan handcrafts the box from wood and then decorates it with hand embossed leather and hand-cut brass accents. The decorative lock hasp, legs and hinges are made from brass while the interior is luxuriously lined with suede.
