Tropical Signed Unstretched Blue and White Woodcut Print, "Sea Mermaid"
Using traditional techniques and putting his creativity into each little detail, Brazilian artist Ivan Borges creates a naif composition illustrating the cheerful nature of the region. Choosing a sturdy wood block, the artist hand-carves the piece by hand in a meticulous process that results in an ink artwork printed on paper, depicting a mermaid swimming on a sunny day.
The work is titled Sereia do Mar in Portuguese and comes signed.
