A pregnant woman with angel wings is destined to evoke myriad emotions in this painting by Juan Sandoval. "This composition shows the sweetness of a pregnant woman who wants to be free and flap her wings like an angel but at the same time she expresses sadness, anguish, and who is inconsolable at not being able to do it. She agonizes behind that intriguing look on her face. Hers is a surreal image, as if taken from a dream," says the Peruvian artist of this canvas. He combines walnut stain and pencil with oil and acrylic paints to successfully achieve a mystical ambience.
