Signed Multicolored Abstract Painting from Ghana, "Pots"
Ghanaian artist Fiifi Nyame draws inspiration from ceramic pots for this painting. Working with a freeform, abstract style, the artist paints this composition to suggest a group of three pots of different shapes and sizes. He takes a palette knife and layers a multicolored array of abstract designs over the composition. Says Fiifi, "Pots in the olden days were used to store water, honey, and oil. This painting is to tell the world about how pots were used in the olden days."
