Signed and Mounted Portrait of a Purepecha Woman from Mexico, "Woman in a Grey Sweater"

Angel del Palacio mixes crayons and colored pencils on paper to create this expressive portrait of an elderly Purepecha woman as she covers her face from the bright light of the sun. She folds her rebozo over her head and wears a warm sweater in the chill morning in Michoacan. The composition is matted, mounted on a pinewood stretcher and covered with a protective pane of glass.
