Painting of Woman with Broken Pot Modern African Art, "She Who Fetches Water..."

A look of stunned surprise appears on this woman's face as she realizes her ceramic pot is broken. "The unexpected happens sometimes when one is trying to achieve something in life," observes Isaac Kwadwo Afedi. Painting with acrylics in a bright palette of yellow and orange hues, the Ghanaian artist creates an admirable visual vignette of tradition mixed with the mischievous finger of fate.
