Osprey with Fish Color Woodcut Print by J. Borges in Brazil, "Fish Hawk"
With naif style and vivid color, J. Borges depicts an osprey perches on a flowering tree with the fish it has just seized from the ocean. Birds are a favorite theme for the Brazilian artist, who creates his woodcut prints freehand. The osprey is also known as the fish hawk, sea hawk or river hawk, and fishes by diving to the water's surface.
