Mexican Alebrije Cat Sculpture, "Blue Cat Greeting"
Wearing bright red lipstick, a whimsical blue cat lifts her tail in greeting. Zeny and Reyna transform found pieces of copal wood into a delightful alebrije. These fanciful sculptures are a traditional folk art in Oaxaca, once based on twenty totems but today representing all kinds of animals. They take their name from a Calo gypsy word for "something difficult, tangled, confusing or fantastic."
Because each alebrije is individually created work of folk art, shapes will vary slightly. Small parts are separated for shipping to protect from breakage.

"Another amazing work by Zeny and Reyna"
This little cat is just adorable! Right now she is keeping a friend of mine company (a temporary adoption). The details are amazing. I check frequently to see what is new from Zeny and Reyna.

stunning so beautifully painted and so delicate I absolutely adore it and it has a place of honor with my collection I would recommend this to anyone it truly is amazing the detail has to be seen to be believed the pictures dont do it justice its so beautiful!

"Excellent Quality & Fair Price"
The piece I received was modestly different than the picture on the Novica. This is to be expected since each piece is cfrafted individually. Fine workmanship. I would definitely buy from these artists again.
