Evoking a set of steps that lead to the top of an Andean temple, this geometric tapestry is designed by Peruvian artisan Luis Leon. He works on a traditional San Pedro loom, hand-weaving brown and white wool yarns against a cotton warp using a technique known as llenado. Fringes with an ombre design complete the tapestry at the bottom.

I have been wanting this tapestry for a couple of years and have finally acquired it. The macaws are so vibrant and beautiful. The quality is superb. Thrilled!

I received the Amazon Macaws tapestry today. I bought this tapestry because I have such fond memories of seeing these magnificent birds in the wild at the clay lick in the Amazon. The tapestry is more beautiful than the picture on the NOVICA site. I received my parcel all the way from Peru in just a week, amazing. Thanks Luis I am amazed you can capture these birds in flight in a tapestry. I will treasure it.
