This beautifully-painted ceramic sculpture is from Maribel Posso in Peru. The sculpture is inspired by the myth of the torito de Pucará, which tells the story of a sacrificial bull that brought water to the townspeople by piercing the side of a mountain with its horn. The bull is considered a symbol of protection and prosperity in Peru.

I just love this little guy. I have him on the mantle and enjoy him everyday. I hope to one day visit Peru and explore. But for now I have my little guy to dream with.

I love the souvenir as much as the story behind it. The workmanship is perfect, and I keep this gorgeous figurine on my mantel year-round. It goes with my summer decoration just as well as with my Christmas garland and ornaments.
