Named after the Bobo people, a Mande ethnic group living primarily in Burkina Faso, Emmanuel Austin Ankude's wall mask is a powerful tribute to the centuries-old tribe. The artisan in Ghana uses local sese wood to hand carve the mask, painting its feature a deep, dark brown.

"Striking handsome statue"
Very masculine piece, beautifully finished. Its posture conveys an impression of strength, prowess and resilience, which I expect would have been the tribal intent of these sort of pieces. Will be treasured, thanks
