This splendid mask hand-carved from balsa wood to display on your wall celebrates the majestic flora and fauna of Costa Rica with a toucan, a hummingbird and an exotic cattleya orchid known as guaria. It also pays tribute to warriors of the Boruca people who fought against the Spanish conquerors. The artisans of Costa Rica's Association of So Cagru Indigenous Women recreate the masks worn by the Boruca during their annual Dance of the Devils celebrations where the battles against the Spaniards are the central theme.
