Half a jaguar, half an owl and all the splendor of Costa Rica's fauna and traditions is displayed in this spectacular mask carved by hand from balsa wood and painted by hand with acrylic paints. A unique wall accent by the artisans of Costa Rica's Association of So Cagru Indigenous Women recreates the masks worn during the Dance of the Devils, the annual celebration of the Boruca people to commemorate their battles during the Spanish conquest.
