The eighth-century Book of Kells is an ornate, hand-copied illuminated manuscript of the gospels--one of the most important pieces of early Celtic art in the world. These sterling silver pendants are inspired by the highly decorative capital letters, called initia, that begin each section of text. Each is cast from sterling silver and finished by hand in a family-run Dublin studio. The pendant centers a classic sterling silver cable chain.

“Lovely but small”

The pendant and chain are lovely but I expected larger. The website has an inaccurate description of 1 for the length of the pendant. The length is exactly 3/4 inch. That is a huge difference. I wish it had been the 1 as stated.

“A big disappointment”

I bought 2 of these for my 2 daughters. The k was lovely, however the lower case L was not very nice. Although it was exact duplicate of the original lower case L, it could have been done with the Upper case, which I think would have looked a lot nicer. It would be helpful if you had photos of each letter before purchasing.

“Nice piece of work”

The only problem is the length of the chain. It was to short for my daughters neck so I had to order a longer chain or buy another complete product and use the secon chain to enlarge the first chain. If buying this item be sure to make the fit.

“Beautiful colors”

I bought this as gift for my mother, who loves a pretty sun-catcher, and she loves it. She hung it in a sunny bedroom window so she can enjoy it when she wakes up in the morning. if you dont have a sheltered outdoor spot for it, just find a sunny place inside and enjoy the light.
