Ekeko, the Tiwanakan god of abundance, is a popular Latin American icon, often depicted with luxurious items strung around his neck. Peruvian artisan Maribel Posso Olivares depicts Ekeko here, hand-painted with floral motifs against a blue body and outfitted with a multicolored wool chullohat. Around his neck are items such as a house, a television, and a car, bringing a touch of Latin good fortune to any home.

I just love this little guy. I have him on the mantle and enjoy him everyday. I hope to one day visit Peru and explore. But for now I have my little guy to dream with.

I love the souvenir as much as the story behind it. The workmanship is perfect, and I keep this gorgeous figurine on my mantel year-round. It goes with my summer decoration just as well as with my Christmas garland and ornaments.
