Gae sa lak is a traditional Thai sculptural process used in carving for decorative purposes. Kanda applies this method to a series of ceramic products, each one with floral and organic shapes hand-carved into the clay before the piece is fired. The piece is then glazed in the traditional celadon method, featuring a lightly crackled antique appearance. This beautifully shaped vase is adorned with a wonderful elephant design that wraps around the piece's bulbous base.
You can find our celadon ceramic vase 'Traveling Elephants' by Kanda in categories such as East meets West Vases and Ceramic Vases. Enjoy exploring these sections for other Novica treasures.
