This breathtaking wool runner rug is inspired by the chakana, an important symbol in Andean cultures, particularly associated with the Inca civilization. The stepped cross with 12 points forming a square cross represents the Southern Cross constellation and symbolizes duality, complementarity and reciprocity. Peruvian artisan Gerardo Fernandez creates an exquisite handwoven design with vibrant hues obtained from organic sources, including cochineal and tree leaves, bark, roots and fruits.
