Floral motifs in ginger, burgundy, and black decorate the ecru body of this fine silk shawl, designed by Bali's Yuni Kristina. She applies the designs by hand using the traditional batik method, where a wax resist is used with dye. The shawl's borders feature truntum motifs, representing one of the oldest batik designs. Long, elegant fringes finish the shawl at each end.

Yuni Kristina conjures lavish colors and classic Javanese batik patterns for the design of this silk shawl. They include the parang, or dagger, once exclusive to the courts of Surakarta and Jogyakarta. Also, they include the kawung, an eight-pointed rosette set within a square, rhombus or circle, formerly reserved for the sultan's use.

Shimmering shades of blue and cream cover this elegant scarf. Yuni Kristina recreates the parang raja. One of many traditional batik motifs, it symbolizes the ancient Javanese kingdom in general. She stamps the blue patterns in pure silk and adds the red blossoms with the batik motif.
