Presented by Indonesian artisan Yuni Kristina, this gorgeous silk shawl is hand-stamped using the batik process. The wrap combines saffron, espresso, and cherry-colored traditional motifs on a paprika background. The truntum pattern dominates the shawl, symbolizing unconditional love. The kawung motif is thought to have been designed by the king of Mataram and represents universal good will.

Colorful flowers blossom with exotic elegance over a crimson background. "Red symbolizes courage," says Yuni Kristina, as she decorates this silk shawl with batik techniques. The traditional patterns originate in Pekalongan, central Java.

Several days are spent to create this floral batik silk masterpiece. Artisan Yuni Kristina learned the art of Indonesian batik, a UNESCO cultural treasure, from her mother.
