Details
Four masks gaze at the viewer in a painting filled with West African symbols. Surrounded by traditional adinkra symbols, the masks represent Ghanaian identity. Shaped like a bird looking over its shoulder, the sankofa tells viewers to learn from the past. Chief of all adinkra symbols, the adinkrahene stands for greatness and leadership while the symmetrical gye nyame with its rotating blades represents God's omnipotence and immortality.
