Original Virgin Mary Religious Painting Limited Edition, "Madonna Profile"

"For me it is a pleasure to paint Madonnas in the fields, colorful and adorned, as messengers of joy and peace," confides Telma Morais as she explains the inspiration behind her "Madona" series. Working with acrylics, she conjures the profile of Mary with a starry sky transformed into her headscarf, and her golden halo as bright as the sun. "The real Madonna didn't have the fine features of a European woman. She was an ordinary, Asian woman and as such I see the spark of Mary in each of us women," says the Brazilian artist as she explains the inspiration for this series of acrylic paintings. "She exists worldwide and has the complacent eyes of those who listen carefully and, what's more, she has the smile of acceptance and understanding."
