Collecting a style of art for your home

I am probably the last person who should give advice on choosing the perfect style of art for your home because I have such eclectic taste that I see no problem mixing and matching!

Case in point; I’m decorating my family room walls. I want the space to be fun, kid-friendly and unique for my family.  My perfect wall would start with this quirky and fun piece!

Signed Modern Floral Oil Painting from Peru, 'Flower Mosaic' painting art for your home

How fun is this piece? Called “Flower Mosaic,” it has bright colors mixed with curlicues and dots and no straight lines. There isn’t anything that I don’t love about this piece!  This painting is 15.5″ wide and 13.75″ high.

I love Miriam Chipana’s painting style!  They are truly happy paintings and each piece makes me smile! So, I would add an additional Chipana painting.

Signed Modern Floral Oil Painting from Peru, 'Small Garden' style of art for your home

Small Garden has vibrant colors, and again no straight lines, only fun, funky shapes, and designs. This painting measures 15.25″ wide by 12.5″ high.

I would add my additional paintings around these two pieces.  Starting with the painting below for its total uniqueness. This is an original elephant painting from Thailand.

Elephant art Multicolored Original Elephant Painting from Thailand, 'Early Autumn' styles of art for your home

The fact is that this painting is an original work of art by Singha, a four-year-old elephant from Thailand.  Seriously?!  How many people do you know that have artwork that was created by an actual elephant?! Talk about a conversation piece! This particular piece is called Early Autumn and it measures 30″ long and 22″ wide, not to mention unique. No two paintings will ever be the same.

Since this is a family room I would like to add a painting that has some sort of family look to it. This particular piece is done in the traditional Indian Madhubani painting style and it’s called ‘Happy Family’

Madhubani painting, 'Happy Family'

This particular piece is 19.75″ wide by 12.5″ high. I like that the same bright colors and basic shapes are incorporated into the design, just like my other pieces of art.

My next pick appeals to me in so many ways.  The piece arrives uniquely framed. Some of you may think that is a minor thing to be excited about but, in my home, no two frames are exactly the same. This frame, WOW! Talk about UNIQUE!! Check this out!

Framed Wood Painting in Red from Thailand, 'Footprint in Red'

This particular piece is 12.5″ high by 16.25″ wide x 0.6″ deep. The rich raintree wood and bamboo that frames this Buddha footprint surrounded by flowers are just stunning! Footprints of Buddha are cherished in Buddhist traditions, often depicted with each toe measuring the same length.

The shapes and colors coordinate easily and uniquely with each of my other picks. The bright colors will make the room a happy place, kid friendly and yet a place that will make MY heart happy as well. We all know it’s mostly all about me anyway! Right? RIGHT?!

The two things I really want you to take away from my decorating ideas are these- Number one: NOVICA is a great place to start!  Secondly, you and your family are the only people that count when it comes to decorating your castle. Unless of course, someone else is paying your mortgage then all bets are off, (and can you send them my number? If I can get the same deal then I’m willing to let them change anything they want in my home!) Decorate your home to make you happy.
