As a women, it shouldn’t surprise you that I love jewelry. Specifically jewelry sets. I just love the idea of all my jewelry matching. And I love how adding a few pieces together can completely change the entire look of an outfit. But there are just a few things to watch for when picking out jewelry sets.
1. Size. You want to make sure the jewelry sets aren’t going to over power your outfit. If you are wearing a very busy top in designs, you will want a more subdued jewelry set. If you have a lot going on with your clothing, the best way to accentuate is with a calm set of jewelry that will complete the outfit, not compete with the outfit.
Likewise, if you have a very subdued outfit, then using more creative and busy jewelry is a great way to add some spice to the outfit.
2. Length. You want to make sure the length of the necklace will lay well with the top you are wearing. If you have a V-neck make sure the neckline of the necklace will still be seen and not fall under the neckline.
Same with the earrings. They should be appealing in length. Not so long that they are hidden under the collar of your top. But if you like dangle earrings, by all means let them dangle! Don’t go for a stud when you like movement. Just make sure you pick a length that will complete the outfit, not be bothersome or hidden.
3. Color. This I believe is the most crucial aspect to picking out jewelry sets. You want a set that will compliment your outfit, again not compete with it. The last thing you need is a burnt orange jewelry set with a bright pink dress. That won’t please any eye.
My personal favorite is using sterling silver jewelry to complete the majority of my outfits. Sterling silver is a great option because it is so easy to blend. It is a natural and neutral color. And also tends to be a great option for those with skin sensitivities.
