If you are anything like me, you have collected quite an assortment of jewelry over the years. I personally believe that jewelry is art and should be displayed as such when not being worn, especially if it has sentimental value. Most of my jewelry holds a special place in my heart, because I have purchased it during my travels around the world. When I see a particular piece, I am transported back to the city that I bought it in. Thus, I am always looking for a stylish way to display my gorgeous baubles. I do not want them hiding in my closet for no one to see! When I spotted these modern wood ring holders on NOVICA’s website, I knew I had struck gold. These stunning sculptures are called “Graceful Dancer”. They are modeled after a Balinese dancer’s hands and are designed to hold jewelry in a beautifully organized fashion. Created by Wayan Weta from Java, Bali, the holders are carved by hand from jempinis wood and feature an antiqued, whitewashed finish. I loved learning about Wayan’s story. He has an affinity for elephants like myself, therefore I feel like we are kindred spirits. He carves all of the sculptures himself, however his wife does all of the marketing. Together they make an awesome team!
One of my favorite things about NOVICA, besides the fact that they support artisans all over the world and their mission is to spread happiness, is how each product is gift wrapped with a handwritten note from the designer. It is truly a work of art and almost too pretty to unwrap! Because of this, I always turn to NOVICA when it comes to choosing presents for my family and friends for any occasion.
Finding the perfect spot for the Graceful Dancer was easy. I chose a dresser near my bed, in order to see the sculptures all of the time. I draped some of my favorite jewelry across the hands. I could not have been happier with my purchase and I highly recommend buying them if you are looking for a stylish way to display your own jewelry!
Now I compelled to browse NOVICA’s jewelry section to see if there are any other pieces to add to my growing collection. I know the Graceful Dancer will not be able to hold all of my jewelry, but that is a great excuse to buy a jewelry box or two!
