Hello, my name is Connie and I am 100% addicted to handbags. I am continually on the hunt for THE perfect one! I don’t want just any ‘ole handbag I have many requirements; starting with roomy. I must have a LOT of room!! I carry not only my personal items; wallet, phone, glasses, paper, pens, more pens, and more pens. (WHY are there so many pens in my purse?) I also carry items meant to keep 3 year old Alice, completely occupied when we are out and about. Crayons (’cause ‘ya know all those pens aren’t enough writing utensils!), coloring book, wipes, raisins, fruit snacks, iPad, story book, brush, barrettes, 2 Barbie Dolls and a stuffed animal. So ROOMY is a must.
Pockets! I need pockets, one for my keys, one for my mobile phone and one for my credit card wallet. I also want a middle pocket to hold lip gloss, spare change and a million receipts that I will no doubt need; eventfully? If for nothing else, I will make my next shopping list on.
More importantly I want to make a statement with my purse. I want NEED to have a “Oh WHERE did you get THAT bag?” Bag!! I’m giddy; because I FOUND that BAG!!! I love this bag!!! I can’t think of a handbag I’ve ever carried that has gotten this many compliments!! E-V-E-R!! The Just My Size handbag is PERFECT!!!! Inside and OUTSIDE!!
This beautiful fair trade purse combines hand-woven natural cotton colors, brown leather and brass accents to make the PERFECT handbag!!! The brown leather accents run down the sides and bottom of this bag. The adjustable belt not only adds a stylish touch to the bag, but also expands if I need to carry more items. This is a VERY ROOMY bag!! There are two inner pockets on one side; perfect to hold my keys and the other to hold my mobile phone. The inside pocket runs the full length of the purse and it’s deep AND it closes with a zipper!! The bag itself is 12.¼” high and 12.¼” wide and 5.¼” deep. The strap is 20.5″ long and 1.2″ wide. This strap does not slip off your arm! Even juggling a 3 year old and a grocery bag! The bag weighs in a little over 1.5 pounds. This bag is made of 100% cotton, leather and brass. The bag is fully lined with a cotton lining. The bag features a magnetic button closure.
The workmanship and quality of this fair trade treasure is amazing. I am beyond thrilled. Everything at NOVICA is a pleasure, from shopping to ordering, to the presentation and the purse itself I couldn’t ask for a better experience.
Opening a NOVICA box is like receiving a gift!! A hand written thank you note. A card that tells you about your item and the talented artist that created it. I was so excited over the packaging on my fair trade purse, the pretty paper and an adorable little doll nestled in the ribbon. Such a CUTE touch!!
More to love about my new purse is knowing where it came from and who designed the bag and created the bag; that has to be one of my favorite parts of shopping at NOVICA. The ‘Just My Size’ handbag was created by The Villavicencio family; they not only cultivate the cotton in several natural colors – jade, brown and ivory, or raw cotton. With NO DYES!!! The family is involved in the entire process, from growing the cotton, to weaving it and transforming it into this handbag. How amazing is that?!

I hate it when the strap is constantly falling off your arm, or you have to hold it in a death grip to keep it up there. I love that you don’t have to do that with this one!

I laughed when I read what you look for in a hand bag! My daughter in law says that she feels as if she is packing for a weekend getaway every time she takes her daughter (my grand daughter) to the store LOL!

I love the handbag and Novica. I have been purchasing from them for years and I can tell you , they are one of my favorite on line shopping experiences. Great company.
I like a bag that is large enough to stash papers, folders, etc. without bending, I need pockets, some open, some zipper, a place to hang my keys, special pocket for phone, strap for over shoulder, zipper or some kind of closure so rain won’t get in. And it must be attractive!
You can keep your shelves of shoes – my thing (apart from bling!) is handbags (well. jackets too, if I’m honest about it). I LOVE bags. I tend to pick them up in charity shops – it’s always surprising what other people give away. For instance my go-to-bag at this time of year is a simple black handbag that somebody has taken ages covering in sequined flowers of all colours! Yes it’s a bit gaudy & in-your-face but I LOVE it! Says a lot about me actually: a bit loud & very colourful but with hidden depths! Ha!
I don’t know what’s happened to my comment all about my gorgeous sequined bag – sorry Connie! It was a bit long-winded, much like myself, but my attitude is why use one word when there are so many wonderful words in my vocabulary!

I love hanbags, too. I love Novica, too! I don’t have any one criteria, it depends. I like cute littles, crossbody, a hefty quality structured bag for serious! I also have made a few and one came out so darling, but a lot of work – too much!!!

My must haves in a handbag are ROOMY, ROOMY, ROOMY! As a mom of 2 toddlers, I need lots of room to store things we need on the go. I don’t like carrying clumsy diaper bags around in addition to a purse, so I need a handbag that does the trick!

I’m not a big fan of purses…while I like them, I use them mostly to bring things in the car to entertain myself (book, the current craft I’m on, etc.) and the ever important deodorant, or to drag stuff from my bedroom upstairs to the family room downstairs when I have a bunch of junk I need (like, for instance, when I am working on a novel, I need my research notebook, a billion books to do research, at least one different colored pen for each research book [see? I feel you on the pens!!], highlighters, oh my goodness, then we actually need stuff for the novel I’m writing, such as a pen for that and a notebook, or my laptop if I’m typing it on here, or paper for the typewriter…I could go on, but I digress 🙂 Hehe). Hmm…sounds like this big bag might be just the size for that!!

What I look for in a bag is the capacity to carry my wallet, phone, keys and also the book that I’m reading.

I have the same requirements for my handbag…roomy, pockets and especially the strap not falling off, etc. I also want a very convenient outside pocket for my cell phone….a must. Another must is it can’t be bulky. I think this handbag is classic and would go with many outfits.
