A midnight breeze blows throw the folds of this stunning batik robe, carrying with it the stellar wonders of the night. Desak Nyoman Parwati blends tradition with modern day allure in the creation of her fashionable batik robes. The robe features on-seam pockets on both sides and a self-tie belt.

This hand-painted batik robe is a truly original work of art. Sunlight, water, dye and temperature all factor into the look of the finished robe. This should be considered a unique design made especially for you. Colors and pattern placement will vary.

“Beautifully made robe”

This robe is made with a great craftsmanship. The muted blue colors are as beautiful as they are in the picture. I live the celestial pattern. Drapes very nicely and is true to size. I bought it in medium and wear size/142 lbs. the lenght is right around the ankles (I am 5 7”). It didn t have a funny smell as some people noted in their reviews. It was packaged very nicely in a bat from the same fabric.

“A gift for myself”

I ordered this robe when I ordered one for m daughter. I am completely pleased with it. When the package came I tried it on right away. My son said, "hey Mm, I like your Bill Murray robe". So that is what I call it now. I will probably order another at some point.

“Was one of my favorites”

This robe was one of my very favorites with these patterns and colors. but the material is far weaker than many of the batik robes Ive bought from Novica and it started tearing almost immediately. I havent figured out a way to patch it to make it wearable again. :(

For eleven years Desak worked with a batik artisan learning all aspects of the process, from wax painting to dyeing. From her, she learned not only the art of batik and textile design but also how to care for her workers. In her workshop, Desak and the older artisans generously teach their art to the younger artisans, preserving for another generation this UNESCO cultural treasure.
