Pia has taken a very modern approach to textile production. The people who collaborate with her live far from her workshop and used to spend hours each day traveling to work. So Pia moved her knitting machines to her artisans' homes and they no longer have to travel great distances. They are able to spend more time with their families and still earn a living. Marisol gives jobs to local people in her workshop to keep up with the demand for her designs. She also is a huge community supporter and gives back in so many ways. She purposely hires either young people or older people because many companies won't hire them because of their age. Marisol also supports other workshops to sell, and gives them tips and new design ideas.show less
