The design of this exquisite wooden pencil box is traditional in Uzbek applied arts and pays homage to the Bukhara region's carving technique and patterns. Designed by Shavkat Ashurov, this type of sliding drawer box has been used for centuries for storing pencils, but it can also be used to keep jewelry and other beloved treasures. To craft this lovely accessory, the artisan works with walnut and sycamore wood and air-dries them for several years to guarantee the highest quality and durability. The top of the box is beautifully decorated with dazzling leaf and floral motifs both carved and painted by hand.
