Located in the centre of Peru, Tarma is a village known for its music and dance traditions. Among these traditions, Huayno is a distinctive dance performed by a man and a woman, characterised by agile stomping of the feet. Artisan Erika Ulloa pays homage to this dance, combining it with a traditional nativity scene. Handcrafted of ceramic and painted by hand, the intricate figures of the dancers perform around baby Jesus, accompanied by a band of woodwind and string instrumentalists.
