Bright colors bring a modern look to a traditional African mask. Carved by hand of seasoned sese wood, it depicts a personage with wide, watchful eyes and a small mouth. A curving breastplate repeats the form of the headdress and both are incised with parallel lines that form a diamond pattern. Ali Mohammed names his original design Susu Ka, which means "limit the way you talk" or "talk less" in the Akan language.
