Day of the dead inspires many artistic expressions full of colour and symbolism. This time, Mexican artist Mercedes Collado draws inspiration from this festive celebration and natural themes to create a watercolour painting in a naif style. The composition depicts an Indian fig opuntia with skull fruits under a blue sky. Titled Nopal con tunas del día de Muertos in Spanish, the work comes stretched and signed.

"Simply Wonderful"
A beautiful addition to our home in the S.F. Bay Area. It really captures the spirit, and the color is fantastic. Thank you, Mercedes Collado. Also, it was packed very well; it made a second shipment undamaged to the west coast.
