Working in ceramic, artisans from the Angel Cerón Artisan Association depict an Aztec tlapitzcalzin, a priest dedicated to music, song and dance. This drummer wears a bold eagle headdress and pounds a rhythm on a tall huehuetl. "The sound of the most sacred instruments was understood as the voice of the gods," the artisans say.
