Oscar Rodolfo Mendoza celebrates the art of the ancient Maya with the original design of this ceramic bowl. Decorated with a falcon's head on the lid and human glyphs on the body, the bowl is crafted by hand with the same ceramic techniques developed by the Maya Pibil people. Little is known about them, other than that the Pibil were a warrior and migrant community that came to El Salvador from Mexico. This bowl is treated to achieve an antiqued look, featuring red and orange hues obtained from achiote seeds.

Tall volcanic peaks stand in orderly rows of raisin brown, green, blue and yellow in a bold geometric pattern. Working on the backstrap loom, Juan Jose Ventura weaves the colorful fabric and transforms it into an elegant clutch purse. It opens to reveal a zipper pocket with six spaces for documents and cards.

A man in a heavy collar and ornate earplugs wears a graceful headdress made from leaves of corn. In his hands, he holds a bowl of fresh golden maize as an offering of gratitude to the gods. Skilled members of the Angel Ceron Artisan Association create an image in handcrafted ceramic to honour Mexico's pre-Hispanic civilizations. The headdress is similar to that of a Classic Maya sculpture from Copan that can be seen in the Peabody Museum. Their concept may be inspired by a Maya maize God image from the same archaeological site, now on display in the British Museum. However the artisans give the deity the look of an aged man.

Representing female indigenous artisans of Guatemala, the Yama Aj Chixot Artisan Group presents this charming yoga mat strap. The artisans hand-weave the strap of cotton, featuring crimson alongside multicolored stripes. At each end of the strap is a Velcro loop for securing around a rolled yoga mat.
