Guatemala Handcrafted Ceramic Acorn Woodpecker Figurine, "Acorn Woodpecker"
With his white belly, black and yellow face, and red cap, the acorn woodpecker collects oak nuts to store in tree trunks as a food supply. Mauricio Morales depicts the industrious creature in a ceramic sculpture and carefully paints it by hand before protecting the colors with a coat of wax. The realistic figurine stands on wire legs and the feet can be wrapped around a perch or branch.
