Guatemala Handcrafted Ceramic Hairy Woodpecker Figurine, "Hairy Woodpecker"
The hairy woodpecker takes its name from tiny fine feathers on his head and legs and above his beak. Mauricio Morales depicts the handsome male bird in a ceramic sculpture and carefully paints it by hand before protecting the colors with a coat of wax. The realistic figurine stands on wire legs and the feet can be wrapped around a perch or branch.

"A wonderful little friend! Lovely details"
Harry the Hairy Woodpecker is already perched on the frame of a work of art in my office. I decided I needed some downstairs birds... my other Mauricio birds are upstairs. He is quite comfortable visiting with my Robin made by Mauricio that arrived today, too. The wire feet to held them quite secure. These birds make wonderful gifts, too.
