I wanted to get away from aluinum ice cream scoops. This one is gorgeous and well balanced in the hand. The scoop is a bit wider than a typical aluminum scoop, but you can still get a nice ball of ice cream with it, and you can use it in a spade-like fashion, like the professionals in an ice-cream shop do when the scrape and form a ball.

These little spoons are lovely. I try to use wood instead of plastic whenever I can. Beautiful hand carved utensils like these will last a hundred years. I never regret a purchase from Novica and these spoons are no exception.

Ive been using these salad servers about four times a week for 6 weeks or so, and theyve been washed up each of those times and still look great. THey are nicely designed to scoop up salad in a bowl to toss, and they feel good in the hand—handles are not too thin, the utensils are light but retain the beautiful wood markings.
