World Peace Project Acrylic Expressionist Buddha Painting, "The Buddha"

Brazilian artist Marcia Grijo paints a striking expressionist composition featuring Buddha, the ancient sage of enlightenment. "My expectation for the achievement of world peace is through my behavior with the external environments, taking care of my neighborhood, my city, whatever is within my reach that I can also through my work--not only as an artist but socially. I think that the people who come into my life and who encourage me also end up having the same perception that world peace is achieved and actions carried out in every living individual, object, relationship, family, and global vision. The Buddha on his journey revealed and left a legacy, a teaching and a religion, Buddhism. I'm a Buddhist, and I have been inspired by modern-day Buddhism.
