Corn has nourished humanity for hundreds of years, becoming a symbolic element in many cultures. David Fernando Duke from El Salvador is also fascinated by this nutritious vegetable, creating an abstract composition from acrylic and oil. Using a palette of cool hues, the artisan adds a corn image on top of the blue background, all in a warm palette for a contrasting style. Made in honour of the prosperous fields of his homeland, the painting is also titled Tiempo de Cosecha I in Spanish.
