Details

An old stone walkway leads to three tall prangs built in the Lopburi architectural style during Thailand's Khmer period. All is peace and beauty at Wat Si Sawai in the Sukhothai Historical Park in northern Thailand. In 1991, Sukhothai was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, protecting the capital of the Sukhothai kingdom in the 13th and 14th centuries. Working in oils on canvas, Sukum Ruangdech conveys its quiet beauty.

"This Painting Delights Me!"

Its a little difficult buying art online. I mean, you cant see the brushstrokes or have an interactive experience with the piece. But on Novica, I trust that all the offerings will be of quality and beauty - at least in some beholders eye! This painting far exceeded my expectations. I wanted something that would have movement in it, and nothing moves quite like water. The colors are rich, and the painting very skillful. Ive received several compliments on it in just the past few months! It seems particularly difficult to review art as it is so subjective. What I can say is that Sukum Ruangdech is very talented and highly skilled. This Impressionist painting can both invigorate and soothe when I gaze at it - which I do quite often. I can feel that water flowing between the rocks, starting its long journey to the sea, and sometimes, I imagine Im flowing right along with it.
