Signed Expressionist Painting of Two African Children (2017), "Child Neglect"

Inspired by the travesty of the impoverished lifestyles of child farmers in Africa, Ghanaian artist Cecilia Adedunmola Adeniran paints this heart-wrenching composition. Standing side-by-side, two young boys are captured in an expressionist style, where surreal colors shade their bodies. Says the artist, "Since West Africans are peasant farmers and education is not a priority, the children end up in farms and on the streets without any future, and the cycle continues."
