The traditional Madhubani painting technique from the Mithila region is awarded Indian artist Bharti Dayal's specialty. Her style mixes Hindu mythology with current social, political and philosophical issues, but also marvels at the little things of life such as a woman immersing in and absorbing nature. This multicoloured folk painting is crafted with acrylic paint and vegetable dyes applied to handmade paper with the help of brushes, sharpened reeds and pen nibs.

This painting is delightful, a great combination of traditional form and colors and modern, geometrical composition. I love the parrots expression and the checkerboard-bird background.
